"All In Vain" was finished about 3 weeks ago, but I've been so busy it just didn't get posted. This painting features a Confederate Colonel after the Battle at Palmito Ranch in Texas May 13, 1865. The Civil War ended with General Lee signing the surrender at Appomattox Courthouse on April 9, 1865, five weeks before. The battle was won, the war lost, and as my Uncle Jack, the model, said "It was all in vain", naming the painting.
"All In Vain" is 24" x 48" and is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas. Click Here to view my web site!
