Shep paints a "Sunset"

When you finish a painting it's time to start another.  This painting is fairly large at 24" x 30", is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas, and has a really nice gold shadow box frame.  Give me a name for it.

  1. Well...

"Sunset, XXXX" would be the simplest. (Using the location or month or date.) A little fancier would be "Sundown." (Also perhaps adding the location, etc.). Given that there is water, perhaps "Eventide"?

Or, go find a poem about sunsets and use one/part of one line that evokes what you tried to capture/"say" with the painting. Whitman? Frost? Shakespeare? Though my go-to poet is Emily Dickinson.

One of hers ("I'll tell you how the sun rose")could be paraphrased for your title: Paraphrasing Emily: "I'll tell you how the sun set". Or, take one of her lines from that poem (the quote marks and placement of the exclamation point are hers): "That must have been the Sun"!

  2. P.S.
    I forgot to ask:
    What's the medium?
