The Brenham Fine Arts League Annual show was this weekend and it was a good time. The Professional Oil Category was very large and the competition was stout. "Brenham Poppies" won a First Honorable Mention and is now qualified for the Lone Star Art Guild's Convention.
The Judge Glenn Bahm was very complimentary in his critique and suggested that I do a few tweeks to the painting to take it to a higher level. I very seldom start again on a painting after it's signed, but his suggestions actually answered a few questions I actually had about the work myself. I'm not going to share what Glenn saw and I agree with. After I do the touch ups I'll repost to see if anyone can figure out what we did. Sound like fun?
