"Free to be..." is finished!

Is this a fun painting or what? Remember, I don't do bluebonnet paintings. This is a painting of a beautiful redheaded young lady in a field of bluebonnets. It also may have been the hardest painting to do that I've ever done. Bluebonnets are hard to paint and the artists who do lots of bluebonnet paintings have earned a new respect form me.

Pop Quiz! How do you paint a painting with a field of 100,000 bluebonnets?

You will be able to see "Free to be..." at my big show at Lampros Gallery in The Woodlands on Sunday, February 13th, from 2:00 to 6:00. The show is really coming together and invites will be sent soon. If you're getting this...you're invited!

Pop Quiz answer: One bluebonnet at a time.

My name is Bob Shepherd, but when I paint I'm known as "Shep". I love to paint people. Happy people. Sad people. People dancing. People in contemplation. Old people. Young people. Lately I've gotten into painting new things and I'm enjoying the challenge. Flowers and still life's have been fun. My blog is here to show you what I'm doing and how I'm doing it. If I'm doing your commission you can follow the progress of your "PortraitbyShep". If you'd like me to do your portrait please notify me through the blog.
