Glazing the fun part!

Some people get all bent out of shape about glazing. Artists, because they think they'll never paint it as good again. Don't worry...if you did it once, you'll do better next time. Non-artists, because they think you ruined it. Don't get bent. Just mix up Liquin with a little Boehmian Green, and slap it on. Keep it thin and work very fast. Minor flaws are actually good things. They make it look like a painting...not a photo. I'll put up some before and after's tomorrow, when the glaze is dry.

  2. PJ: Boy am I glad that you're getting the Blog. I've had a few problems with the server, but my future son-in-law is helping. You asked about high school awhile back. Remember it was 1965 then and real men didn't do art. So I took every Engineering, Architecture, or drafting class Mr. Malone taught. Did the same at Tech until I decided I wasn't an engineer. Or at least a professor helped me decide. Graduated in business, and have been The Wrangler Man for 29 years now. About 10 years ago I almost died with a perforated colon and decided it was time to live my life with no regrets. I loved Kristin's post yesterday about regrets. Donna put a catalog to the community college for Beginning Painting and the rest is history.

My name is Bob Shepherd, but when I paint I'm known as "Shep". I love to paint people. Happy people. Sad people. People dancing. People in contemplation. Old people. Young people. Lately I've gotten into painting new things and I'm enjoying the challenge. Flowers and still life's have been fun. My blog is here to show you what I'm doing and how I'm doing it. If I'm doing your commission you can follow the progress of your "PortraitbyShep". If you'd like me to do your portrait please notify me through the blog.
